The Residential Utility Grant Assistance Program provides financial assistance to Bonney Lake water and sewer service area residential customers. The program is funded with $100,000 from a portion of the City’s CARES Act stimulus package distribution.
All eligible residential utility customers submitting a complete and timely application will have a chance to receive a grant of up to $500 until all funds are exhausted. A total of $100,000 of funding is available. Funding is limited. All applicants may not receive a grant.
Eligible utility customers
In order to be eligible for the City of Bonney Lake Residential Utility Assistance Program, utility customers must meet the following requirements:
- Address must be within the Bonney Lake water and sewer service area.
Utility account must be in good standing as of March 1, 2020. (Please note: this requirement has been removed as of Sept. 15, 2020. Applications previously not meeting this requirement are now eligible and will be reviewed at the Sept. 23 meeting.)
- Have been affected by COVID-19.
- Utility customer must be eligible for and be willing to set up a utility payment plan for any remaining balance not covered by the Residential Utility Assistance Program.

Application
Applications for Residential Utility Assistance Program opened on August 3, 2020 and will be accepted on a rolling basis until funds are exhausted. The final day to apply is Wednesday, November 11, 2020.
Applications may be submitted at any time - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via the online application. Utility customers may request a hard copy by contacting Utilities at 253-447-4317 and can submit the application in the utility payment drop box at the Justice and Municipal Center.
Applications are currently under review. A staff person will follow up with applicants via email once a decision is made or if additional information is needed. One application accepted per address.
