Market and Music starts Wednesday, July 6th at Allen Yorke Park! We had such a fun 2021 season that we can't wait to see what 2022 has to bring. Check out the calendar for bands playing and scroll below for vendors that will be attending this summer.  And of course, please put the Taste of Tapps held on Saturday, July 23rd on your calendar! We have some great food trucks and awesome entertainment lined up! The 2022 season starts July 6th until August 31st, 2022.

Outdoor Market & Tunes at Tapps - July 6th till September 1st
Tunes at Tapps is held at Allan Yorke Park on Wednesdays in July and August. This event features an outdoor market with local vendors and live music.

Market: 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Music:   6:30 - 8:00 p.m.

Concert Lineup includes: Slim Wizzy, Wally and the Beaves, Beatniks, The Coats, Victims of Love, Corey WIlds, 80 Proof Ale, Limberlost and Borrowed TIme.  See the Special Events calendar for exact dates and detailed information on each band. 

Bonney Lake Arts & Parks Commissions and Bonney Lake Amateur Astronomer Club will be in attendance.

We are excited to announce the return of the Taste at Tapps!  This fabulous food truck feast will be held on Saturday, July 23rd from 11:00AM -7:00PM at Allan Yorke Park.

Entertainment includes: Boot Boogie Babes, Stargazy Pie, Heavy Hammer, WA Bigfoot Society and Sway.

National Night Out - August 2nd, 2022

Join us on August 2, 2022 from 5:00 - 7:00PM

National Night Out is an annual event designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships.

There will be free hot dogs, a bounce house, inflatable slide, crafts and more. 😊

Members of the Bonney Lake Police Department and East Pierce Fire and Rescue gather at Allan Yorke Park to host a fun event!
Super Jump provides a bounce house and inflatable slide!   Come out and take the opportunity to speak one on one with your police chief and officers, council members and various City leaders and workers.

Beautify Bonney Lake 2022
Beautify Bonney Lake is an event run by a non profit and the city is a sponsor.

Beautify Bonney Lake hopes to inspire increasingly greater numbers of citizens, and businesses to dedicate three hours a year to the permanent beautification of the city, built around the vision of creating lasting beauty and appeal. Our hope is that Bonney Lake will become known throughout the area as a city that takes great pride in its community.

Hauling Gourds Fun Run - October 2022
Information for 2022 to come shortly!  Fall 2021 sold out so be sure to check back in early September. 

The Hauling Gourds 5k Fun Run is a hilly course where you literally haul gourds as you run! During this unofficially timed 5k event, participants will collect two gourds during the race. Awards will be given to the overall first place male and female finisher.

Mayor's Food Drive 2021
Mayor Neil Johnson’s 8th Annual Food Drive
November 15 – 19, 2021

Food and meals are a celebration that bring families together during the holidays. Unfortunately, for those facing food insecurity, this is a stressful time to provide for their children and ensure food is available.

In the spirit of the holidays, Mayor Neil Johnson, in partnership with the Bonney Lake Food Bank and Murrey’s Disposal, would like to ask for your support in making the holiday a little brighter for those facing food insecurity. Please consider donating food or funds to support the more than 1,000 families of the Bonney Lake Food Bank during the Mayor’s 8th Annual Food Drive, Nov. 15-19, 2021.

Murrey’s Disposal is making it simple to donate food items. Bonney Lake residents will receive a plastic bag in the mail to place your nonperishable food donations next to your garbage cart by 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 17.

The biggest need for holiday meals right now:
Boxed stuffing
Cornbread mix
Instant mashed potato flakes
Cream of mushroom soup
Canned or packet gravy
Canned green beans
Canned pumpkin
Canned cranberry sauce
Canned yams
French fried onions
Mini marshmallows
Sugar
All purpose flour
Salt & pepper
Jell-O
Additional helpful items:
Peanut butter in plastic jars
Canned tomato products
Canned meats (tuna, chicken)

If you would like to participate but are unable to leave items curbside, please consider dropping off your food donation at one of the following locations:
Bonney Lake Food Bank, 24015 SR 410, Buckley
City offices (Police Department, Justice & Municipal Center, Senior Center, or Public Works Center)
If you have a school-aged children, several of the Bonney Lake area schools will also be hosting a food drive around the same time.

Tree Lighting Festival 2022 - Check back for update
Check back in the fall for an update on the 2022 event. 

This event is typically held the first Saturday of December at 6 p.m. In 2020 & 2021, the Tree Lighting Festival was held virtually. Deputy Mayor Evans and his daughter read a book to online attendees and helped countdown the lighting of the tree. 
Gingerbread House Contest 2022 - Check back for update

The Bonney Lake Arts Commission’s annual Gingerbread House Contest is easier than ever to enter and view because it’s going virtual! In 2020, participants enjoyed building their creation with family and friends and submitted their entry online. This fun competition is open to everyone with no forms, no fees, and no categories. Judging and online voting took place online. 

Spring Events

Hauling Eggs 5k Fun Run 2022
Date: April 16, 2022
*Limited to 50 participants*

Not an official timed race but there will be a time clock at the start/finish line.

Hauling Eggs is a 5k in the neighborhood around Allan Yorke Park in Bonney Lake. Runners will pick up eggs along the route. All participants will receive a medal. If runners participate in both Hauling Eggs and Hauling Gourds in October you will receive a bonus spinner challenge medal to complete the set.

Easter Egg Hunt Thank you!

Easter Egg Hunt –We want to thank ToySmith and Molen Orthodontics for all their generous donations towards our very successful Easter Egg Hunt. There were more than a thousand little egg hunters! What a wonderful day at Allan York park to gather eggs filled with candy, toys and prizes.

 

Spring Clean Up - Week of April 20, 2022

Date: Week of April 20 -23, 2022 (or April 27th on regular yard waste pick up day for extra yard waste.)

Each residential customer residing within the city limits of Bonney Lake may leave up to three extra 32 gallon bags of garbage for curbside for
pickup on your regular garbage day. Please do not use personal garbage cans as we cannot be responsible if lost or damaged.

  • Garbage must be placed in securely tied 32-gallon bags next to your cart.
  • Please ensure each bag does not exceed 40 pounds.
  • Tires will not be accepted.
  • Place all items at the curb before 7:00AM on your service day.

EXTRA YARD WASTE - Wednesday - either April 20 or April 27  (your regular yard waste pick up day)
Each residential customer residing within the city limits of Bonney Lake may leave up to three extra 32 gallon bags of yard waste at the curb
on your regularly scheduled yard waste service day.

  • Use biodegradable lawn waste bags. Please do not use personal garbage cans as we cannot be responsible if lost or damaged.
  • Bags should not exceed 40 pounds
  • Place all items at the curb before 7 a.m. on your service day.

RECYCLING MAJOR APPLIANCES - Saturday, April 23rd by 7:00AM*
Each residential customer residing within the city limits of Bonney Lake may recycle one major appliance at no charge this week. *Saturday is the ONLY day appliances will be picked up. 

  • Secure the appliance doors
  • Leave it at the curb no later than 7:00AM on Satur day, April 23, 2022.

Eligible appliances include:
Refrigerator, freezer, range, furnace, washing machine, dryer, hot water tank, microwave, dishwasher, trash compactor, portable air conditioning units. NO barbecues will be accepted. 

Helpful Hints:
DO NOT use personal cans for extra garbage or yardwaste as we cannot be responsible if they are lost in the truck. No credits will be given for lost cans.         
Please be sure all items are accessible by 7:00am to ensure pick up
Only the above listed appliances will be accepted for Fall Clean Up. Please place on the curb (sorry no alley pick up due to truck size)
Please label/id your extra yard waste so it is not confused as trash
In inclement or rainy weather, please try to ensure items are covered. (Paper biodegradable yard waste bags tend to break & create a mess if left out in the elements.)
Do not exceed 45lbs per bag for trash or yard waste. 
Please no tires, car parts, barbecues, furniture, mattresses or other bulky items. All items must be contained in a bag.

Shred Event - UPDATED! Saturday, April 23rd
A Shred Truck has been found and will be at Mid-Town Park between 10:00AM - 2:00PM (or until the truck is full!) this Saturday, April 23rd!

Now that taxes are done, it is time to clear out old paperwork and other items with personal information and get is safely shredded!
Parks' Appreciation Day 2022
Parks' Appreciation Day for 2022 will be held on April 23rd (Earth Day!!) at Mid-Town Park from 9:00 - Noon.
