Description
The City Clerk serves as the Clerk of the Council and oversees the preparation of the Council's agendas, minutes, and other official actions. The City Clerk's Office also provides central reception services, records management, supports risk management, employee safety, and emergency management.
The Clerk's Office also supports the community relations functions by providing notary services, publishing Council brochures, providing for codification and publication of the City's Municipal Code, processing press releases and legal notices, updating the city web site as well as other social media sites, and coordinating responses to public disclosure requests.
Responsibilities
This office serves as a link between the citizens and their government. Maintaining the City's official documents, including ordinances, resolutions, and interlocal agreements.
- Preparing weekly Council agendas and maintaining a legislative history, including the minutes of City Council meetings.
- Updating, codifying and publishing the Bonney Lake Municipal Code.
- Updating internal policy/procedure manuals;
- Maintaining the city's records and information management program (including retention, imaging, records storage, archiving, and destruction).
- Responding to requests for disclosure of public records.
- Providing notary services for official city business.
- Processing legal notices.
- Accepting passport applications.
