In accordance with the Governor’s phased reopening plan and orders from the State Supreme Court, the Justice & Municipal Center, Police Department, and Public Works Center are currently closed to the public except for individuals with scheduled court hearings. The Municipal Court counter remains closed. The Recreation Office and Senior Center will be closed in conjunction with the School District closure. Recreation, Senior Center, and the Police Department will have some services and virtual activities. The Mayor is a part-time position and is assisted by a full-time professional City Administrator. The Executive Department is composed of the offices of the Mayor, City Administrator, and Prosecuting Attorney, as well as staff responsible for facilities, special events, recreation, communications, and special projects.

The City Administrator is appointed by the Mayor to oversee the day-to-day operations of the City, working closely with the Mayor, City Council and department directors. The City Administrator is responsible to the Mayor for the general coordination and supervision of the activities of the various City departments and offices per BLMC 2.08.030(D).
